Press Kit

J.R. O'Brien is a Norwegian indie author who writes paranormal and dark romance that is based on personal experience, which is why some of her writing has that extra spicy flavor that seems almost too realistic. She also puts focus on character development, grounds all her scenes in emotion, and ensures her male leads are portrayed with that signature addictive darkness and fierce, obsessive love that makes them ferally devoted to the women they adore. She loves making the plot thrilling and rich, with stories so engaging (or horrifyingly dark) you can't stop reading, even if you wanted to. Be warned, however, her Dark Romance is really extreme, and has a comprehensive list of TWs in the front matter. Reader discretion is advised. She uses her knowledge of and experience with BDSM within her literary works, which she talks about in her educational podcast, "Kinking Out Loud."
